Vessel Layout
COCKPIT
The Eastbay cockpits are deep, with teak over fiberglass deck and large lazarette lockers. Facing aft, the transom door on the starboard side opens out to the teak swim platform. Mounted above are custom stainless steel dinghy davits which hold the West Marine inflatable with a Torpeedo electric outboard motor. Below the davits is a freshwater outlet, a plus hot and cold shower outlet, and a life ring. Facing forward, there are bench seats that face aft on either side of the sliding door into the saloon. The cockpit seats are built-in, with ample storage beneath, teak decking, and cushions. On either side of the seats is the teak decked steps to the main deck.
ON DECK
The side decks are wide, with stainless steel handrails along the cabin sides and stainless steel safety rails along the shear. The toe rail is well maintained varnished teak, and the hardware is of high-quality stainless steel preferred by Grand Banks. The decks are painted with Awlgrip and non-skid. There is a door to the helm station from the starboard side deck, and a door into the saloon from the port side deck. A Danforth anchor is mounted on the starboard cabin top, with chain and rode stowed in one of the two large foredeck lockers. The stainless steel anchor platform has a Maxwell anchor windlass and an Ultra Stainless plow anchor. The exterior varnish has been well maintained.
SALOON
Entering the saloon through the aft sliding door, there is ample headroom. An "L" settee is to starboard, with a teak GB drop leaf table. There is bottle storage beneath the table. The settee has gas assisted lifting sections for easy access to the storage beneath the seating. To port of the entry door, there is a custom teak bookcase, and along the port side, there are 2 GB chairs that one can pull up to the table and a custom teak entertainment center. Forward of the chairs is the door to the port side deck. Forward of the door is a chart table/breakfast bar, open to the galley below. The optional teak and holly cabin sole stretches the full length of the saloon, and below as well. The helm station is on the starboard side, forward of the settee. The entire saloon and helm station are surrounded with large windows allowing for good visibility in all directions. The four large side windows open for fresh air, there are 2 overhead vents forward, plus the center windshield opens. Air conditioning is supplied to the main cabin by one of two 16,000 BTU reverse cycle ac units.
HELM STATION
At the helm station is the GB double helm seat with storage beneath. The door to the starboard side deck is outboard of the helm. This helm station was redesigned by C. Raymond Hunt and Associates for Grand Banks. The new layout was so functional and pleasing that it became the standard for all Eastbay boats that followed. The center windshield opens, there is an overhead vent, and windshield wipers and defrosters on all three windshields. The following steering, controls, electronics, and navigation equipment are installed at the helm and in the overhead electronics locker:
Hynautics hydraulic steering
Glendenning engine synchronizers
Single lever throttle and shift controls
Bennett trim tab control with angle indicators
Spotlight control (2017)
Remote control for windlass
Furuno Radar
Garmin depth finder (2018)

SIMRAD autopilot (2018)

GALLEY
The U shaped galley is down three steps and to port. The galley is open overhead to the saloon above. There is ample storage all around this galley. There is an upper cabinet and microwave oven above the Corian countertop on the aft side of the galley, with the stainless steel two drawer refrigerator below. The top-loading freezer is outboard of the fridge. When facing the outboard end of the galley there are teak cabinets above the Corian covered icebox and storage locker. The four-burner range/oven/broiler is in between, with a vent above the stove in a stainless steel backsplash and an opening port above. There are upper cabinets to either side of the stove. The forward side of the galley holds the stainless steel sink in a Corian countertop, knife storage, upper cabinets, and drawers below. A very functional galley with a lot of storage, there is even a "pantry" on the starboard side of the companionway. Galley equipment includes:
Air-cooled 2 drawer refrigerator with stainless steel lined drawers and exterior.
Heavily insulated top-loading freezer
Microwave oven
Force 10 four-burner stove with oven and broiler
Exhaust vent
Opening port
Corian countertops
Stainless steel sink with Corian cover
GUEST STATEROOM
Across from the galley is the guest stateroom. There is a hanging locker, four-drawer bureau, and storage beneath and behind the lower berth. Accommodations for two were achieved by the design of a settee where the back hinges up to create a second single bunk. The interior of this cabin also has the teak and holly cabin sole, teak joinery, dark blue Sunbrella upholstery, two opening ports, and an overhead hatch.
HEAD AND SHOWER
Forward of the galley and guest cabin, there is a shower cabin to starboard complete with sink, mirror, and storage. The head is to port, also with sink, mirror, and storage. Both areas have opening ports, overhead hatches, teak grating on the sole, and white Formica cabinetry with teak trim. The head has a freshwater Sealand Vacuflush toilet.
OWNER'S STATEROOM
Forward of the heads is the Owner's Stateroom, complete with an island double bed amidships. On either side of the bunk are teak "countertops" with teak airplane-style lockers above. There is a hanging locker to port and a bureau to starboard, and four large drawers beneath the centerline berth. The storage throughout this boat is well thought out and of high-quality teak joinery work. There are opening ports and an overhead hatch for ventilation, and a separate 16,000 BTU air conditioning unit for the accommodations below deck.
