Goal: Traveling to Far-Off Places to Fish with Friends and Family
When the yacht owner was looking to create his ideal custom vessel, Burger Boat Company in Wisconsin was the ideal fit. The roughly 2-year build went smoothly, with no surprises, as everything from the staterooms to the 10ft cockpit, to the lighting were all specified and agreed upon in advance. The owner wanted a vessel that he could travel to far-off places to fish with friends and family – and that is what he got. The yacht interior was also created with this in mind – after a long day of sportfishing, coming inside to rest and relax had to be uncomplicated, so they created a stunning interior without compromising the owner’s wishes. The yacht is comfortable – the sofas are welcoming, and the environment is serene, yet modern.
Room for Socializing and Entertainment
Designed by the renowned Luiz De Basto, NORTHLAND motor yacht features intricate yacht design details that appear in her layout as much as is in the hard and soft furnishings. In lieu of the typical main deck master, the master is located on the upper deck, which almost solely dedicated to her owners. The main deck forward features a library and social area in which guests can gather to talk about the catch of the day. He also created a layout that completely separates the crew from the guests in flow, from the pilothouse to the galley, to the crew quarters, it never interrupts the social areas for guests. This was no easy feat on a 103-footer, but De Basto made it happen.
Every Angler’s Dream
As far as her many fishing amenities go, NORTHLAND motor yacht features a 10ft cockpit, a state-of-the-art fighting chair, custom tackle center and baitwell, custom rod holders, a fishbox, carbon fiber outriggers, and two custom tenders that rest cleanly on the bow.
At 103′ 06″ (31.5m), with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, she has a beam of 26′ 05″ (8.1m) and a draft of 7′ 04″ (2.3m). Her tonnage is 252 GT ITC, and is powered by twin CAT C18 ACERT, 475 BHP that take her up to a max speed of 12.4 knots, with a cruising speed of 12 knots. Her remarkable range at 9.5 knots is 4,000 nautical miles.
