The 1988 86' NAUTOR'S SWAN Swan 86 ASPIRATION is a yacht for sale located in Langkawi, Malaysia.At the time of her launch Swan 86-001 was the largest and most powerful Swan ever built. Her first name was Zoom. With lines by German Frers and the typical Nautor quality she is the epitome of the famed Swan “cruiser-racer” style with wedge deck and long overhangs.  She is an accomplished performer and whilst a “maxi” at heart she is fitted out luxuriously and by any standards a top class cruising yacht. Below decks the interior was hand built with custom care by Nautor’s craftsmen. ASPIRATION was sold in 2010 to her current owners – then shipped to Asia. Since shipping Aspiration to Singapore from Mallorca, she has been used lightly & principally for the owner’s use - typically within a 300 NM radius from Phuket. The furthest she’s been sailed is to Flores & Bali Indonesia. The yacht has enjoyed continual maintenance and upgrades.  ASPIRATION has a commercial status and has made some successful charters (they have conducted approx three charters which were no longer than 7-days each) but the main emphasis has been on private use and family cruising. The owners are now relocating to Europe and hence the decision to place their beloved Aspiration on sale for new owners to enjoy. The yacht was ashore at Langkawi for the month of August where she has been fitted with a new prop shaft, cutlass bearings and thru hulls.

Yanmar 6LYA, 365 Hp or 272Kw, diesel engine, 6 cylinders in line, Turbo Aspirated, new 2014.

Stainless steel Aqualoy 22 propeller shaft new 2018. Including cutlass bearings, refurbished Max Prop, etc.

 

Rig was unstepped and has undergone to a complete inspection and refit in 2014. The rod rigging has undergone to die penetrant test of all the heads and terminations. Diagonals shroud N4 were replaced as well as some of the toggles aloft and deck toggles of the vertical and diagonal shrouds N1. The secondary stays and the backstay runners in Aramid fibres have been replaced.

 

Reckmann foresail hydraulic reefing system serviced by the Reckmann in Germany 2014.

Disassemble and service winches, including re-chrome various parts.

 

 

HULL & DECK:

 

The hull and deck are GRP sandwich construction and foam core (hand laid E-glass & Aramid fibre sandwich with foam core).

Structural bulkheads are foam cored and laminated to hull and deck.

Teak laid deck, replaced in 2005/6

Aspiration has the optional “wing keel” – the ballast keel is a lead casting with antimony.

Cast in keel bolts are of stainless steel.

Rudder of foam filled GRP with high tensile stainless steel stock. Rudder dropped and new bearings installed 2014

Cable steering gear. Recessed destroyer type single wheel with elk-hide cover.

There are two watertight bulkheads - anchor locker & lazarette.

Deck hatches removed, disassembled and repaired where necessary 2015/16. Acrylic replaced on most.

ACCOMMODATION

 

ASPIRATION has a classic style interior finished in teak with satin finish. The interior was hand built with custom care by Nautor’s craftsmen using the best yacht practice and first grade materials.

 

Description:

 

Aft helm / working cockpit.

Large centre cockpit with dining table suitable for outdoor informal dining.

Access to the lower deck is by two companionways.

The first one aft from the aft cockpit serves the owner’s cabin – from where you can also go forward to the navigation station situated just forward of the cabin.

The main entrance leads from the main central cockpit and leads into the main saloon.

 

The main saloon is located amidships and is full beam. To port is the dining area with ample space for eight guests and to starboard is a seating arrangement.

 

The galley is open plan and is located just aft of the main dining area on the port side.

 

The passageway leading aft to the Owners cabin is on the starboard side going aft.

In this passage way one can find the second “crew” cabin with its ensuite, this cabin is finished to Owner’s standards and could be a 4th guest cabin should there only be two / three crew members.

 

Just aft of this is the navigation station. This also serves as the yacht’s office. All wind instruments are repeated here. During crossings an extra bulkhead can be put in the Owner’s cabin, which allows the navigation station to be accessed by the aft deck hatch whilst maintaining privacy for the owner.

 

The Owner’s cabin is full beam. The large double bed is on the port side. On the starboard side is a settee. This cabin has ample storage space. The ensuite bathroom is facing forward on the port side. From this cabin there is a companionway to the aft cockpit.

 

The VIP cabin is located forward of the main salon on the port side. This has a double bed with ensuite bathroom.

 

Opposite is the twin bed guest cabin (bunk beds) with ensuite bathroom.

 

The forepeak is crew quarters for two.

 

(The fo’c’sle was fitted originally fitted with a V berth but has been modified to provide a working area and fitted spares storage and laundry)
