2016 230' HEESEN YACHTS Motor Yacht FDHD Porto Cervo Italy
€75,000,000 EUR

The 2016 230' HEESEN YACHTS FDHD Motor Yacht Galactica Super Nova is a yacht for sale located in Porto Cervo, Italy.

Galactica Super Nova was engineered by Heesen’s in-house specialists in collaboration with the renowned Dutch naval architects van Oossanen, who devised the Fast Displacement Hull Form, which Heesen was the first to put into production. An extremely thorough pre-design phase, developed during more than 35 years of yacht building experience, resulted in a very efficient construction process that allowed the full-custom vessel to be built and delivered in just 31 months. What makes Galactica Super

Galactica Super Nova’s Fast Displacement hull reduces resistance by up to 20 per cent, dramatically decreasing the amount of power required to achieve a given speed.

Her revolutionary hull form, combined with fixed pitch propellers and a Rolls Royce central booster jet, power the yacht from 0 to 30 knots in just 75 seconds. But Galactica Super Nova is not only fast; she is also highly manoeuvrable in all sea conditions and extremely quiet.

On her voyage across the Atlantic, Capt. Chris Guy took the chance to test the yacht’s handling in big seas. During the leg from St. Maarten to Ft. Lauderdale, he turned north into the waves around at 14.5 knots and expected some pounding. Nothing! So he slowly started to increase RPM. At 21 knots there was still no pounding. At a comfortable 10-degree rudder angle, Galactica Super Nova then turned gracefully onto the reciprocal southerly course. Surfing the swell with only the two outboard main engines the yacht made 29.1 knots, Capt. Guy is certain that with the central booster jet they would have surpassed 35 knots.

Beyond faster displacement speeds, Galactica Super Nova provides added value in terms of luxury and comfort:

  • By moving the tenders into garages in the forward part of the hull, we have developed a fantastic space that allows owners and their guests to enjoy a lifestyle closer to the water. With bar and elegant lounge space as well as two fold-down swim platforms, the beach club is one of the most desirable places on board while at anchor. At night, this area transforms into a night club with LED light clusters configured to interact with the music for a multisensory experience. The high-tech lighting can also be adjusted to suit more mellow moods should romantic dining or a cocktail reception be the order of the day.
  • The 6m infinity pool, with glass-panelled bottom and spa jets for hydromassage and swim jets, is the centrepiece of the main deck aft. The sun’s rays stream through the pool floor, bathing the lower deck beach club with dappled light beams. The lighting and waterproof sound system can be synchronised with the beach club to create a double party zone.
  • A spectacular staircase with an elevator of stainless steel and crystal that serves three decks. The stair treads are masterpieces of creative design and precision detailing. Their fluid shapes lined with polished stainless steel trim blend into the stairwell wall panels.
  • The foredeck serves as a touch-and-go helipad or as a lounging space for sunbathing. At night, it can be transformed into an outdoor cinema with a portable 4 x 2.25m screen mounted on removable carbon pillars for a crisp, high-definition visual experience. State-of-the-art CAT Marine speakers deliver truly immersive sound.
