REFIT NOTES
Candida has undergone many refits in her long life. In 1990/1 she was put back to her original cutter rig, from the yawl rig she had for many years. New mast, boom, bowsprit, rigging and deck hardware. The deck was renewed. The 2 Onan generators were installed. In 1991/2 a replacement of the main keel plate was carried out, as well as 36 steel frames replaced and 512 metres of planking. .In the winter of 1995/6 further major works were carried out at the Beconcini yard in La Spezia. This was the completion of the work started 6 years earlier and included some 350 metres of planking replaced, the steel keel plate forward and respective frames replaced. Among a very long list the interior was also modified and fully refurbished.
After changing hands in 1998 more work was carried out, and more recently, under the current ownership, new sails were added in 2008.
RECENT WORKS:
- New paint by Sigma (2012). White hull
- Hull full woodwork repair & repainting 2011

COMMENTS
CANDIDA (K8) is one of the last of the great 23m Class racing yachts, built to the International Rule, which along with ASTRA (K2) and CAMBRIA (K4) have been well known in the past on the Mediterranean classic Boat circuit. Currently only CAMBRIA is still actively racing and in beautiful condition following a two year refit in the UK. CANDIDA is now available to compete again, either as she is, or with an injection of capital by an enthusiastic new owner. Full original plans can be made available to interested parties.
