About the St. Barth’s Bucket Regatta:

The St. Barth’s Bucket Regatta is a three-day event featuring top-notch racing and exclusive, high-end shoreside social events, all in a breathtaking Caribbean setting. For over 30 years, the world’s renowned superyacht sailing yachts, owners, yacht crew, and guests have come together to form a camaraderie at sea between like-minded individuals. Throughout its history, many of the world’s most reputable and accomplished sailors have participated in the racing. Although the Bucket Regatta has evolved, the organizers have kept a tight focus on maintaining the original camaraderie and non-commercial spirit. The event is hosted annually for the pleasure and enjoyment of the sailing superyacht owner.

The first racing day at the St. Barths Bucket is always full of excitement. Starting at the docks in Gustavia and on moorings in the outer harbor where over 1500 sailors prepare their giant rides for battle. On the race course, the stunning sailing yachts gather for competition strutting their sky-high masts and glorious spinnakers. Finally, on the shore again, an evening of yacht events rocks the waterfront. Every year, the highly competitive “Bucket Regatta” kicks off racing, sending over 30 magnificent superyachts in six classes on a counter-clockwise course around the island of Saint-Barthélemy.

Notable vessels that have participated in the event include the 42-meter HANUMAN built by Royal Huisman, 42-meter RANGER designed by Dykstra Naval Architects and most recently refit by Vitters, VELSHEDA, by Camper & Nicholsons, 41-meter VALQUEST built by Bloemsma & Van Breemem, and many, many more.

There is no other regatta of magnitude on the superyacht racing circuit with the same goals as the St. Barth’s Bucket Regatta. Every year, invitations are extended to those who are as passionate about superyacht sailing yachts. Due to concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 St. Barth’s Bucket Regatta was canceled. However, organizers are planning a bigger and better event to incorporate luxury yacht charter vacations in the future.
