Sea trials have commenced for the third yacht hull in Damen Yachting’s Yacht Support 53 series. Following the launch of YS5303 from the shipyard’s Antalya facility last month, the team is now preparing finishing touches on the vessel before its upcoming Summer 2025 completion and delivery.
Said Pim Oostra, Damen Yachting Project Manager for the third YS53, “We are delighted that this YS53 has started the sea trial phase of her build. It’s an important step towards her imminent build completion set for this summer. She is the third from this all-new YS53 design and is a great example of our Yacht Supports which are built for purpose and non-stop reliability.”

Bespoke Builds for Flexibility and Functionality
As part of the Yacht Support series, Damen Yachting has thus far delivered more than 20 bespoke support vessels. Purpose-built for performance and durability, the YS53 range is tailored to meet the needs of owners with an active and adventurous yachting program. The series was designed with bold, modern exteriors and features sharp, angular lines focused on performance and durability. Its axe bow design cuts smoothly through waves, minimizing motion for a more comfortable ride, while the high bow and spray rails keep the deck dry and equipment protected in tough conditions. The expansive aft deck offers flexibility and functionality, making the vessel well-equipped to support a wide range of yachting activities.
Damen Yacht Support 53: A Vessel for Adventure
Yacht Support 53 hulls one and two are prime examples of the line’s intention to create the pinnacle support vessel for active programs. The sale of Hull One to owner Anthony Hsieh was announced in May 2022. YS5301, named BAD COMPANY SUPPORT 175, joined the BAD COMPANY fleet in May 2024 and acts as a mothership during the program’s various sportfishing expeditions and ocean conservation projects. Hsieh speculated that the YS53 range would “set a whole new tier of adventure for future yachts people.”

YS5302, FIVE OCEANS is owned by Tommy Allen, the Founder and Director of global ocean exploratory and expeditionary company Five Oceans Global Solutions. With a passion for marine exploration and conservation, Allen will utilize his Yacht Support vessel as a mobile research base to explore and study ocean life. Noted Allen, his vessel from the YS53 line “is a platform that enables us to do all the incredible things we wanted to do.”
