Italian shipyard Tankoa Yachts has announced the successful delivery of the 164ft (49.99m) motor yacht GREY. The latest unit in the yard’s S501 series, her new owner signed the new-build contract in July 2021 with TWW Yachts acting as project manager. The owner officially took ownership on May 12, 2023, where she’s remained in private use ever since.

While GREY is part of the well-established Tankoa S501 series, GREY was heavily customized by her owner’s wishes, while still maintaining the three-deck yacht layout created by exterior designer Francesco Paszkowski. Included in the yacht customization is a large outdoor home cinema screen located in front of the swimming pool lounge on the foredeck. The yacht has also been outfitted with an elite sound system by award-winning French/British brand Focal & Naim.
Giuseppe Mazza, Tankoa’s Sales and Marketing Manager shared, “Our usual flexibility in satisfying customer requests is evident in the customizations made onboard GREY – such as the installation of a swimming pool in the bow, and the fantastic never seen before cinema/sound system. The jet black and whisper grey paint gives a sleek look to GREY.”
Also looking to add their own flair to the decks, alfresco living was a key element in the yacht design process, with four open lounge and entertainment spaces on offer, a large jacuzzi on the fly deck and ample seating and lounge areas located on the foredeck.
Lead broker at TWW Yachts, Jean-Claude Carme shared their experience working to bring the owner’s dreams to fruition, “We are particularly proud of GREY, and she has been designed and built for the most charming and passionate owners that a yacht broker and project managers can only dream of representing in a new-build project.”
The yacht interior was completed by Giorgio Maria Cassetta who worked closely with GREY’s owner to create warm and inviting living spaces by utilizing soft and natural materials to create a comfortable, yet luxurious feel to the interiors. Enlarged windows on the main deck, combined with glass bulwarks and the ability to fold-out the balconies increase the amount of natural sunlight available and deep connection to the outside world.
There are a total of six sumptuous suites onboard GREY, two completely customized staterooms on the main deck, with the remaining four on the lower deck and space for up to 12 guests. A total of nine crewmembers can also sleep comfortably onboard.
