If you haven’t seen her before, then welcome. She is certainly not your typical superyacht, neither monohull nor full-on catamaran, yet she has two hulls. Her name is ASEAN LADY, and she is spectacular.
Pride Mega Yachts’ Pride
Innovation Combined with Tradition
The 2004 289′ 3″ superyacht was named the most innovative motor yacht by Showboats International in 2005. She was built by Pride Mega Yachts and is based on a design of a Proa: a bamboo outrigger canoe known for their stability and long range, and used for centuries by the indigenous people of the South Pacific. She was penned by naval architect Ian Mitchell.
Designed with Hospitality in Mind
The yacht’s interior was designed by Annie Chang, the wife of co-owner Brian Chang, and she can accommodate 22 guests who are looked after by a crew of 18. The master suite is an incredible 160sqm and features a private balcony and study.
Built Like a Mansion
Her inside is just as unique as her yacht exterior, with a grand staircase that you would only see in the finest of mansions. She also features a large, formal dining area where guests can gather and enjoy a fine meal prepared by the yacht chef.
Finer Than in Most People’s Homes
Her en suites are special, and feature mosaics and glass art work that are finer than in most people’s homes. Exquisite marble and warm woods abound throughout her interior spaces.
Living in a Maximum
The superyacht features an exceptionally wide beam of over 69 feet, for a very broad interior, allowing for a maximum of living spaces and entertainment areas. Her deep draft affects where she can go specifically at lower tides; it’s over 11 feet.
Space, Space, Space
Her deck spaces are expansive and can house all the water toys, as well as provide much space for al fresco dining, entertainment, and total relaxation. She even features conversation areas such as the one above, that are perfect for enjoying a late-night drink.
Taking in the Journey
The Pride Mega Yachts ASEAN LADY is powered by a single Caterpillar 2,000hp engine with a counter rotating propeller Azimuth Drive and can travel at a speed of 15 knots; she also features a 600hp retractable thruster that can propel her at a speed of 7 knots. The superyacht is meant for slower cruising, to truly take in the journey and the scenery. She also features an efficient range of 10,000 miles when underway at her cruising speed of 12 knots.
