Sunreef Yachts has reached a milestone in their effort to redefine the superyacht industry by enhancing energy efficiency. On February 6, 2025, the company, whose shipyard is in Gdańsk, Poland, announced the completion of the hull for the new 43m Eco. The Sunreef 43m Eco super catamaran’s composite hull is 141ft (43m) long and 50.5ft (15.4m) wide, making it not only the world’s largest eco electric catamaran to date, but also the single-shot hull infusion project in the yachting industry has seen.

The single-shot infusion technique provides a structure that is light and stronger, while minimizing organic compound emissions. According to the Sunreef Yachts press release, using a modular construction approach allows yacht components to be simultaneously developed, which enhances project management efficiency and maintains precision.
Founder and President of Sunreef Yachts Francis Lapp noted, “The hull unmolding brings us closer to building one of the most revolutionary vessels in the yachting industry. The Sunreef 43M Eco’s composite structure offers the best of robustness and weight efficiency. Her architecture, build quality, and green tech solutions make her the world’s most advanced electric superyacht.”
The Sunreef 43m Eco will hold nearly 394 square feet (over 120 m²) of integrated solar panels, for a total of 820 square feet (250 m²) on the vessel. While under sail, the new 43m Eco will use a hydrogeneration system for clean power and will utilize ultramodern batteries with a capacity of 1 MWh. By using such advanced solar technology in addition to electric propulsion, Sunreef aims to increase energy efficiency.
