Tell us about how you got your start in yachting.
I started in the yachting industry a little over 10 years ago. It was just a coincidence that my former employer wanted to expand their marine navigation equipment business to the yachting sector. I started to learn about the yacht world and found it extremely exciting. My first roles were in sales, marketing, and after-sales service for different yacht brands, which allowed me to understand all the different elements of a yacht and the client’s needs. Four years ago, I began a new chapter working as the Fleet Manager at Camper & Nicholsons Asia.

As a professional in yachting, what trends have you seen and what do you predict for the coming years?
More and more superyachts are coming to Asia, particularly in especially in the last two years following the COVID-19 Pandemic. I expect this trend to continue and for the superyacht market in Asia to keep growing in the coming years.
What kinds of challenges have you faced in yachting, and how have you overcome them?
Something unexpected will always happen and if you cannot overcome difficulties and obstacles, you cannot succeed in the yachting industry. For me, working with professional captains and crew, drawing on the resources of Camper & Nicholsons and being fully supported by a far more experienced team in Europe always helps me overcome any kind of challenge that I am facing.

What are some of your most memorable and successful moments in your career so far?
One of most memorable moments is when we hand over a yacht to new owners, who are also so excited and satisfied. Seeing this reminds me of all the demanding work that we have put in to make it happen and makes it all worth it.
What do you aspire to for the future?
I am happy to see the superyacht industry in Asia is maturing. In the future, I hope more superyachts will consider Asia as a home base.
