Peter Lürssen, Managing Partner of Lürssen, said this vessel “is a large, powerful superyacht that can cruise efficiently anywhere in the world.” He noted DRAGONFLY is outfitted with an electric Azimuth Pod Drive and “a highly efficient Diesel-Electric Hybrid Propulsion Concept developed by Lürssen’s in-house engineering specialists.”
According to Lürssen’s press release, the system’s twin diesel engines “drive two controllable pitch propellers through individual gearboxes, fitted with PTI/PTO units for electric propulsion or to generate electrical energy to operate the vessel.”
Mr. Lürssen stated, “One of the many hallmarks of any Lürssen yacht is the mastery of technical challenges. DRAGONFLY is no exception.”
The 142m superyacht’s “forceful yet elegant” yacht exterior was styled by Germán Frers, CEO and Principal Designer at Frers Naval Architecture & Engineering.
Frers explained that the primary goal when building DRAGONFLY “was to produce a well-balanced design that emphasizes timeless appeal over transient trends.” Frers said the sophisticated yacht “not only fulfils but exceeds expectations, balancing luxury with practicality that ensures lasting appeal.”
DRAGONFLY’s interior and exterior living spaces were conceptualized by Nauta Design. With 9,500 gross tons of interior volume, DRAGONFLY is fully equipped with any and all amenities a yacht guest could desire.
Superyacht DRAGONFLY Features:

President of Nauta Design Mario Pedol said, the project “has been an exciting four years of creative work designing this outstanding combination of atmospheres and unique lifestyle.” He continues his praise of DRAGONFLY by noting she “offers incredible perspectives and breath-taking outside views – all with a subtle balance of refined elegance.”

Ever innovative, Lürssen installed a bespoke double-folding platform system at DRAGONFLY’s stern. The shipyard explained this unique system allows the above deck to fold into the platform in order to create a versatile beach club area with ample space and direct ocean access.
Y.CO Project Coordination and their Technical Partners were also involved in the process.
Charlie Birkett, Co-founder and CEO at Y.CO, called the project “an extraordinary showcase of design, innovation, and craftsmanship—from concept to delivery.” Mr. Birkett expressed the company is “happy to welcome DRAGONFLY into the Y.CO Yacht Management Fleet.”
A truly exceptional year for the shipyard, DRAGONFLY is the fourth yacht Lürssen has delivered in 2024. Additional deliveries this year include LUMINANCE (455ft/138.8m), KISMET (400ft/122m), and HAVEN (269ft/82m).
