Heesen Yachts has achieved a milestone by joining the hull and superstructure of Project Grace, YN 21350. This superyacht is the inaugural vessel in Heesen’s 50m Steel class. Project Grace is also the first vessel Heesen has fit out with two MAN (IMO Tier III) engines, each with a maximum power of 882kW, allowing the yacht a maximum speed of 15.5 knots.

Peter van der Zanden, Head of the Design & Development/Engineering Department, said, “The new 50-metre Steel series gave us the opportunity to select the ideal engine for our brand-new platform. The MAN D2862LE438 was the clear choice, offering a power and efficiency profile that is perfectly calibrated for Project Grace’s performance targets.”

The fusion of the hull and superstructure was completed over the course of a week, beginning at Talsma, Heesen’s partner for steel hull fabrication in Franeker, Netherlands. After transporting the hull via rivers and canals to Heesen’s shipyard in Oss, the vessel’s main engines were installed before the joining process was completed.

Project Grace’s exterior by award-winning British studio Harrison Eidsgaard is described as a translation of Heesen’s “sporty aesthetic” aluminum yachts into “a bold yet graceful steel form.” The yacht’s holistic design approach exudes elegance and enduring style. Defined by clean lines, low bulwarks, and expansive full-height windows, the yacht maintains a strong connection to the sea while flooding the interiors with natural light. Harrison Eidsgaard is working with the shipyard to refine the layout, enhancing guest spaces while streamlining crew areas for seamless service.

Heesen CCO Ruud van der Stroom reflected on seeing the first 50m Steel vessel come together, calling it a “powerful moment.” van der Stroom said, “It’s where the vision becomes a tangible reality. We are confident her iconic design will resonate strongly with a discerning owner.”

Project Grace is currently available for purchase with an anticipated delivery date in the first quarter of 2028.
