The fourth Amels 60 model was successfully launched recently in Vlissingen, the Netherlands from the Damen Yachting shipyard. The 197ft (60m) yacht is running on time to be delivered to her own in October.
Featuring an exterior yacht design by Espen Øino, with naval architecture by Damen Yachting, her yacht interior was a collaboration between Studio Indigo and Pure Living.
Fourth Series to be Launched since 2019
This is the fourth Amels 60 to be launched since its inception in 2019 with a further two more in construction. Being a semi-custom model, her sisterships share similarities but allow for an owner’s personal tastes and designs to be implemented as well to the interiors and some aspects of the exteriors as well.
This particular model features windows that were transformed into long lines of glazing to allow floor to ceiling windows in the main saloon at the owner’s request. Six staterooms are available for up to 12 guests, with a full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck with a foldout balcony terrace. An adjoining cabin is available for use as a VIP retreat, children’s suite, office or even as a gym. The remaining four luxurious cabins for eight guests are located on the lower deck. Also awaiting guests is a large beach club sauna, jacuzzi, helipad and storage for a tender up to 29.5ft on the foredeck.
The popularity of the model is thanks in part to the speed in which someone can customize and receive their 197ft yacht. Jan van Hogerwou, Damen Yachting’s Commercial Executive USA, shares, “We’ve had a very strong reception to this new Amels design – largely because an Owner can step into a new build, make some customizations and yet still benefit from a two-year delivery time.”
The Amels 60 comes equipped with IMO Tier III compliant hybrid power and propulsion technology helping to lessen her environmental impact while also offering a transatlantic range of 4,500 miles.
