Company History

Mochi Craft Yachts was established back in the 1960s in the Italian town of Pesaro, Italy. Its founder was Luciano Mochi Zamperoli, who ran the company until 1981 when he retired.

For a short time before Mr. Zamperoli’s retirement Luigi Prosperi helped with the management of Mochi Craft. Luigi Prosperi had previous experience in the automotive industry with the IVECO FIAT car manufacturer and, in 1981, took over the management of Mochi Craft entirely. Mochi Craft was the first shipyard that introduced the diesel engines for boats in Italy. At the beginning of the 70s, the shipyard based in Pesaro built wooden boats. From 1977 Mochi Craft started building GRP yachts. Under the leadership of Luigi Prosperi, the yacht builder went through many prosperous years with a focus on manufacturing flybridge and open motor yachts with GRP hull in the middle-sized range, mainly for the German and Italian markets. Unfortunately, in 1994 the Mochi Craft shipyard entered a crisis and went into bankruptcy after five years in 1999. Not long after this year in November 2001, the Ferretti Group purchased the company and made it part of their worldwide successful yacht brands.

Combining Classic New England Lobster Contemporary Boat Design With Cutting-Edge Technology

Under the Ferretti Group ownership, Mochi Craft went through a few constructive changes, including the logo’s evolution from a swordfish to a dolphin. Today the yacht brand of Mochi Craft focuses on the building of lobster yachts combining the classic New England lobster boat and the modern contemporary design with cutting-edge technology that the Ferretti Group puts on every yacht leaving one of their shipyards. Mochi Craft got back to the yachting scene with a new line of yachts – Dolphin yachts, which are manufactured in the range between 44 and 74 feet. All the latest yacht models of Mochi Craft are built in the headquarters of Ferretti Group in Forli, Italy. Mochi Craft shipyard currently offers five yacht models – DOLPHIN 44′, DOLPHIN 54′, DOLPHIN 54′ FLY, DOLPHIN 64′ CRUISER, and DOLPHIN 74′ CRUISER. The DOLPHIN 74′ CRUISER is the new flagship of the yacht brand, which is an innovative translation of the classic lobster boat offering luxury, elegance, style, comfort, and reliability at sea in four staterooms.

Mochi Craft is a preferred yacht builder for those looking for high-performance GRP motor yachts featuring a planing hull combining classic and modern lobster design in different colors.
