Company History

With over 38 years of deep roots in naval architecture and vessel construction, MCP Yachts is one of the leading shipyards out of South America, specifically Brazil.

The yard has been constructing the largest aluminum luxury motor yachts in the region, and started out with 90ft steel-hulled vessels in the early ‘80s.

By 1994, MCP expanded its range and built a 120 ft aluminum hull which was on display at the Nice Boat Show – this is how they gained notoriety and an excellent reputation in yacht building. Today, MCP employs world-class techniques in yacht design and construction and delivers high quality, top performing vessels built in aluminum. The yard has created over 250 customized designs for private yachts and commercial vessels and takes great pride in both practices.

MCP Yacht Types

MCP Yachts now constructs 10 varied customizable motor yachts including flybridge models and superyachts that range in size from 69 feet to 140 feet in their shipyard in South America. In fact, the shipyard launched the largest yacht entirely built of aluminum to come out of South America – the 140-foot RAFFAELLA II. The superyacht was created in conjunction with the famed Dutch designer Vripack, who created the naval architecture for the semi-displacement hull. The semi-displacement yacht was launched in 2013.

The well-known yacht builder is located 100 kilometers from Sao Paulo and has two large buildings for production of its aluminum yachts; they also boast a crane and private jetty that offers direct access to the sea for the launch of its vessels.

MCP Sailing Yachts Division

Although MCP may be known for being one of the largest motor yacht builders in South America, the yard now has its MCP Sailing Yachts Division. The company has paired with the famed North Sails in Brazil for its electronic instruments, Harken winches, sails and all hardware associated with sailing. MCP also collaborates with Alejandro Bottino Design and Engineering, a well-know naval engineer and architecture firm in the performance sailing yacht market.

The first sailing yacht to launch from these collaborations is the SILVER BULLET 100, set for delivery in 2024, and is the only model of its kind so far. She will accommodate eight guests in four luxurious staterooms, with the capability to house four crew members. Two guest staterooms and the crew area are located forward, with the third guest stateroom being aft of the semi-raised saloon. The master stateroom is large, light and airy due to a large window that overlooks the lower aft terrace.

The yacht will be

  • powered by a Yanmar 315HP engine, and will
  • feature a lifting keel offering an 8ft draft for shallower waters, and a
  • 14.7ft draft for enhanced sailing performance.

Designed to be run by minimal crew, she will feature a self-tacking jib along with a 260 square-meter mainsail.
