In an unprecedented online performance, the latest launch from Amels, the Amels 80, made her memorable debut on March 31, 2022. The brand-new project is said to be at one with nature and is a result of two years of planning on the part of all its collaborators. Thousands of virtual viewers were treated to a show that revealed a brand-new, “future-proof” superyacht that will be built with sustainable materials, and the utmost in modern hybrid technology.

The exterior design of the Amels 80 is the result of long-time collaborator with the yard, Espen Oeino, who has blended nature’s timeless beauty with the trusted and proven engineering of the shipyard. “The Amels 80 is a design that will not age. Her modern strong lines will look as good in 10 years as the day she departs the yard. She is a big ship, full of features, with an impressive interior volume at 2,175 Gross Tonnage. She is everything and more that you will expect from an 80-metre yacht. There is a sense of scale, but nothing is wasted,” iterates Espen Oeino.

For its bespoke interior, the yard collaborated with Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, a firm that is deeply established in the yachting industry as having a stellar reputation. This marks the first time that the two powerhouses are working together. Plans for the yacht interior include personalized, loose furniture and highly decorative elements that together with the owner, will result in an individualized, personal home on the water. The yacht will feature the owner’s own artwork and other intimate touches that will create a tailored atmosphere.

Generators will reduce emissions, and to save energy and to diminish noise, the Hybrid by Amels battery power and propulsion systems will be employed. As the largest offering in the yard’s Limited Editions series, the yacht will feature a length overall of 261 feet, she will have a beam of 41 feet and a gross tonnage of 2,175 with naval architecture by Damen Yachting.
