After an extensive refit, Damen Yachting announced the renaming of the motor yacht ALBATROSS during a private ceremony at its shipyard in the Netherlands. The 260ft (79.2m) vessel was christened MOONSTONE, and on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, she embarked on her first sea trial under her new name.

Originally built by Delta Marine, MOONSTONE underwent a bold transformation when the owners chose Damen Yachting and Amels for the ambitious 26-month refit. Drawing on their expertise in large-scale refits and new builds, the teams collaborated to meet high performance standards and realize the owner’s vision. The refit included a full interior overhaul and a 7m (nearly 23ft) hull extension. To achieve this, the shipyard removed a 10m (33ft) section and inserted a newly constructed 17m (55.8ft) module – an engineering feat that also required redesigning several onboard systems, including raising the exhaust systems to preserve vessel stability.
Now in its final outfitting stage, MOONSTONE is on track for delivery in late 2025.
