Lusben has announced the successful completion of the extensive refit for Lürssen’s mega yacht, OASIS. The refit was commissioned by the owner with a focus on extending the beach area by 11.8ft (3.6m) and completing many maintenance operations on the main and upper deck and replacing the teak throughout. The yacht now measures 206.7ft (63m) from her original 194.8ft (59.4m).

The works were carried out in conjunction with FM Architettura for all design and décor, while Studio Sole was consulted for the naval engineering of the beach club extension and the entire project. The beach area alone involved major structural steel work with delicate cutting needed to help keep the integrity and overall harmonious look of the yacht. To ensure the utmost safety of the vessel upon completion, extensive tests were performed, with OASIS passing with flying colors.
Other notable works include the refit of the main and upper decks with an interior paint job to brighten the walls from stark white to elegant grey, and extensive glazing on the upper and main decks in the central section offering a panoramic view of the sea. Fresh teak can now be found on the beach area, up on the main deck, and on the stairs as well.
A total of 40 people worked on the refit to keep the project running on schedule.

This demonstrates yet again that Lusben has the capabilities to tackle complex refits and major work on recreational vessels of various lengths, built by any shipyard.”
