The Hutchwilco Boat Show (HBS), the longest running boat show in New Zealand, will make its return May 16-19, 2024. Held at the Auckland Showgrounds, this is the country’s largest show of its kind.
Exhibition Manager Helen Kay says, the focus of HBS is “bringing everyone together, to unify the industry” further stating they plan to put a spotlight on “all things in boat and marine innovation, highlighting them across our marketing channels – [which includes a] new show website, social media platforms… and the popular event show guide.”
HBS will host over 200 exhibitors, including 45 featured boat companies on display. Other vendors include marine engine and trailer manufacturers, fishing gear suppliers, water toys, and more. Interactive presentations by industry experts will be held with topics including boating safety and education, marine science and biosecurity, seafood processing, fishing masterclasses, and a fish fileting demonstration.
The HBS will offer fun for the whole family with activities including bumper boats, rideable rodeo-style shark, and an inflatable pirate ship bounce house. Guests can indulge in the Māori concept of Kaimoana – the practice of gathering food from the sea. Over 20 vendors will have food, beverages, spices, and more for purchase.
Event attendees also have the opportunity to win a grand prize! The prize includes a Surtees 750 Game Fisher Enclosed Hull boat with a Yamaha F300 XSB2 V6 4.2L engine, Futura Trailer, and a Garmin package. A live drawing will take place at 5pm on Sunday May 19.
