Damen Yachting’s Project Manager, Romke van der Linde states, “This yacht is at the forefront of shipbuilding. We are a 100+ year old shipyard that continues to innovate and the hybrid Amels 80 is a true testament to this. The feedback from the several Amels 60 yachts that already feature our hybrid system has been more than positive.”

Design Features of the Amels 80

With heavy involvement from the owner, they opted for the option to create a custom interior yacht design with Dutch design studio, Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design. Details include a unique color palette and complimentary natural materials, with a dedicated owner’s deck and 200 square meter sun deck. Other key features include plenty of water toy storage, a waterside beach club that opens on three sides, and wellness and spa area, and helicopter landing area

Jan van Hogerwou, Commercial Executive North America at Damen Yachting shares, “A key selling point of our Amels Limited Editions superyachts is the ability to create a fully personalized interior design. And judging by the interior renderings, this is set to be a spectacular rendition of the Amels 80 that we are all excited to see delivered in 2025.”

Prior to arriving in Vlissingen, the Amels 80 hull and superstructure was launched at the team’s build facility in Galati, Romania on September 27 and towed to the Netherlands for completion. The Burgess team sold the yacht over a year ago and has remained part of the build process as the owner’s representative.

Sean Bianchi, Partner – Head of New Construction, Naval Architect at Burgess comments, “The next milestone of this impressive yacht is upon us with her arrival in Vlissingen. With much of the design development of the yacht being personally overseen by the owners, we believe this will be one of the standout yachts entering into operation in 2025. This is a great testament to the project team who are working collaboratively together to complete a yacht that pushes the boundaries of the Limited Editions series to the maximum. We are extremely proud to have been part of this unique project and look forward to her delivery in 2025.”
