David Bowie, known for his refined and impeccable taste but also for his fear of flying, bought the 39m Benetti yacht and traveled on it across the oceans throughout the 1980s while he was touring. After he overcame his phobia of flying in the late 80s and sold the small yacht. Since then, the luxury yacht has had two more owners who actively sailed her across the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.

EL CARAN accommodates up to 12 guests in six cabins, which have benefitted from a fresh new interior. Her cabin layout is arranged as a master suite, two VIP staterooms, one double cabin, and two twin cabins.
She offers plenty of places on board to socialize and enjoy the yachting lifestyle, including her main deck salon, bright and airy sky lounge, and a great sundeck space. Her yacht interior features mahogany finish with paintings and art installations and was revamped by Simona Lamboglia Architecture and Interior Design.
Refitted in 2020 with several new upgrades, she was designed and built by the Italian yacht builder Benetti. She is constructed from steel and aluminum and built to RINA class specifications.
A popular vessel on the charter market, she offers guests a cruising range of 3,800 nautical miles and is newly fitted with stabilizers for added passenger comfort. She is powered by twin 824 hp MTU engines with a top speed of 12 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots.
