“Shaping the Future” in Monaco
Benetti hosted a “Shaping the Future” press conference at the Monaco Yacht Show on their 150th anniversary, providing an update on their milestones.
Giovanna Vitelli, Chair of Azimut|Benetti Group opened the conference by sharing, “It is a great pleasure for me to announce our new collaborations and projects today. Offering cutting-edge yachts to the market is our mission, hence the need to further expand the brand’s collaborations with the best designers in the world and announce new revolutions in the world of yachting, of which the Veranda Deck is the new standard bearer. It’s a symposium, a triumph of excellence in yachting under the Benetti flag, and I am very proud of it.”
Following the success of Benetti’s Oasis Deck®, Benetti and RWD released details on their Veranda DECK™, which offers a “reinterpretation of the Main Deck lounge.”
According to the statement, this area has seen little change in over 50 years, so this new Veranda DECK™ offers greater connection for the modern owner that values more seamless transitions from the interiors and the outdoors. The new deck opens up on three sides, offering unobstructed views of the water around you – this will first be seen on the upcoming Motopanfilo 45M, “a steel project with which Benetti rediscovers the origins of the iconic yachts of the Sixties that made yachting history, with memories of rounded sterns and timeless impact. The exteriors are designed by RWD. Lazzarini Pickering Architetti envisioned the Interior Design and Exterior Deck Design of the 45M in continuity with the 37M, building on their meticulous study of the spaces.”
The New B.YOND 55M
The latest model to join the B.Yond range is a 55m (180ft) model, with designs by Igor Lobanov. Born out of a desire to give owners a steel hulled, expedition model yacht in a more compact size, the B.Yond range began with the 37m (121ft) Voyager and grew from there.
“Volume, reliability, seaworthiness are the traditional values associated with B.Yond. Igor Lobanov endeavored to enhance the ‘Voyager’ spirit of the line with environments designed to offer guests diverse experiences, even during long stays on board. Each of the five decks was designed for a distinct use, always ensuring privacy and intimacy for guests and crew. Furthermore, to provide for more activities, the concept of layout ‘fluidity’ was introduced,” the team elaborates.
The 55m will feature boundary pushing designs by Lobanov, including optical illusions to create a unique visual effect.
Project LIFE 85M
Benetti’s new Project LIFE 85m (279ft) will feature yacht exteriors by Espen Øino and interiors by Francois Zuretti. With a new addition to their megayacht fleet, Project LIFE will offer large social and entertainment spaces on each deck, with a large revolving lounge to offer multiple options depending on the time of day.
The new 85m interiors by Zuretti will optimize natural light to pour in at every opportunity through large, floor-to-ceiling windows, expanding the spacious feel inside. Zuretti makes use of ceiling heights and complimentary materials to increase the volume and further highlight the expansive space available.
In a bid to lower their carbon footprint with every new build, Project LIFE comes equipped with, “a highly efficient and optimized hull; diesel-electric propulsion with fossil and non-fossil fuel (HVO) technology and POD transmission; and integrated hybrid solar panels that collect both solar and thermal energy to power the tenders, toys and appliances.”
In fact, Benetti now offers hybrid or diesel-electric propulsion options across their entire fleet, and high-efficiency hulls that reduce consumption and CO2 emissions. The Azimut|Benetti Group has also “recently signed an agreement with Eni Sustainable Mobility for the supply of HVOlution, the HVO biofuel produced with 100% renewable raw materials*,” pursuant to EU Directive 2018/2001 “REDII.”
