There are more than 50 Amels Limited Editions yachts now at sea, but this is the first time in history that two superyachts have been launched together at the same time. With the yard operating at full capacity, these launches will make way for two new exciting projects to commence build.
Both the Amels Limited Edition 242 and Amels Limited Edition 200 feature yacht exteriors by Tim Heywood with the owner’s able to choose their own interiors. Coincidentally, both owners selected Winch Design to complete the interiors – both with their own distinctive designs and styles.
A standout feature of the Amels 242 is an eye-catching blue hull, foregoing the traditional white hull design. Winch Design then took inspiration from this yacht exterior to complement the interior yacht designs. Blue marbles, semi-precious agate stones and blue mosaics feature throughout bringing a harmonious feel with the exteriors and the interiors.
Other key features include a private owner’s deck with jacuzzi, a large aft swimming pool, and lower deck wellness space. Twelve guests can comfortably stay in six staterooms with ample socialization and dining areas onboard, while accommodation is available for 18 crew plus captain quarters.
Peter Dijkwel, Project Manager at Damen Yachting shares, “The owner wanted something different, and that is certainly what he has achieved, especially with the variety of marbles. This Amels Limited Editions superyacht is a great testament to the range and its flexibility – we can make anything work with this platform. That said, we couldn’t have done it without the consistent and positive cooperation with the owner’s representative. This yacht has been created entirely on schedule and will be delivered on time on 1st June 2024.”
Building on the Amels 188, the Amels 200 is equipped for trans-Atlantic journeys off the beaten path. The owner opted for spaces onboard to be able to fully accommodate working remotely while traveling at sea for extended periods. The owner has asked for an additional balcony on the main deck and exterior bars on every deck for this reason. First on their travel list is to remain onboard through extensive travel across the Mediterranean Sea.
Her yacht hull has also been designed to stand out in a Whisper Grey color. Twelve guests can sleep comfortably onboard, with a further 12 crew members plus captain quarters available.
Tom Oomkens, Project Manager at Damen Yachting shares, “This yacht perfectly reflects the owner’s unique vision. There are many great details, for example, the windbreakers have been upgraded to feature a dark grey tone to mimic the windows. The owner had many exciting design ideas and is experienced – which benefitted the project hugely.”
