The first Southport boat launched in 2003, after a group of experienced boat builders, avid fishermen, and offshore racing aficionados came together in North Carolina to create an innovative, high-performance, composite-built center console fishing boat.
In 2011, the yard moved to Maine, and by 2013, its 29FE model won Best Powerboat Under 30 feet at the Newport International Boat Show. Just one year later, the group announced its new 33-footer that kept all the benefits of its predecessor, only this time, in a larger boat. The yard continued to grow, and eventually needed a larger space, so it moved again, this time to a new 140,000sqft facility. It is now preparing to launch two new models set to hit the water in 2020 and 2021.
