Seaward Boats was founded in 1980 by Barry Kimber, who developed his unique, highly popular Nelson semi-displacement vessels. His original Seaward 23 was so popular in fact, that an owners’ club called the Seaward Squadron was formed, which hosts rallies each season. After the success of the Seaward 23, the company developed larger versions – a 25, and 29-footer, after which the yard launched a 35 cockpit/aft deck model as well as a 39 and 42-footer of the same type. In 2002, the yard relocated its facilities to Cowes. Today, the company is owned by The Boat Development Company Ltd., and still adheres to the original traditions of Seaward boats – creating boats with high quality craftsmanship and seaworthy capabilities.
