Founded in 2006 by Herbert Baum and Guillaume Roche – two men with decades of experience in the yachting world – in the free zone of Antalya, Turkey, the yacht builder had created a name for itself among superyacht set.
The yard built aluminum superyachts ranging from 148 feet (45m) to 218 feet (68m) long, and also ran a refit facility. Its first build that launched in 2009, was 148ft (45m) AFRICA, and later in 2014, they launched its sistership, ATOMIC; their largest yacht to date was 208ft (63.6m) IRIMARI. As of 2016, Sunrise had entered into a financial deal with a Hong-Kong based company as the controlling investor, but is no longer in operation.
