About

New England Boatworks

The New England Boatworks company started in 1988 with a strong background in traditional boatbuilding materials including aluminum, fiberglass and wood, and today, NEB constructs projects with advanced composites to construct mostly racing and performance cruising yachts in both motor and sail.

In 2018, the yard launched its largest yacht to date – CONTRABAND, a 94-foot displacement aluminum vessel for Newport Shipyard owners, Charlie and Rose Dana.

This was the second boat that the yard built for the owners, the first being a 71ft Hood-designed aluminum ketch called SAINT ROQUE, in 1985.
