Established in 1963, Ericson Yachts built sailboats ranging from 23 feet up to 46 feet and was started by Ray Handy.
The first Ericson boats were the 26 and the 30, and both began production in 1966. After a couple of years in operation, the yard filed for chapter 11, and sold to Mark Pitman and Del Walton. The two worked alongside yacht designer Bruce King, who created the E-30, E-32 Scorpion, as well as the E-41, E35-2, and the E-23.
About five years later, the company was sold again, however Mark Pitman remained at the helm as president, and Walton stayed on as VP of sales. The company was sold again in 1971 and several times after that, and now no longer builds.
