Horizon Yachts Launches the Seventh Yacht Hull in FD80 Series

The number one builder in the Asia Pacific region, Horizon has delivered over 855 yachts since its inception in 1987. Its popular yacht models range from 52 – 150 ft and include displacement yachts, motor yachts, catamarans, and expedition yachts.

This week, Horizon Yachts launched the seventh yacht hull of its FD80 Series. When first unveiled in 2020, the shipyard announced that the FD80 motor yacht series was designed specifically for the Australian yacht market and debuted its latest iteration, the FD80 Skyline model, at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show last month.

Stylish design from Cor D. Rover

With a stylish yacht design from Cor D. Rover, the FD80 model has generous exterior areas and a high-interior volume. Although smaller than the shipyard’s popular Horizon FD85 model, the FD80 motor yacht feels very spacious inside, a result of her floor-to-ceiling glass windows in the main salon and impressive folding glass doors to the aft deck. Her open-style galley enhances the connection between guests and crew and creates an informal yet refined atmosphere on board. This design illustrates how many owners wish to blur the established lines between above and below deck and is reminiscent of a large, private home. She benefits from a beautiful main-deck owner’s stateroom and three well-appointed guest cabins.

Expansive exterior spaces

The expansive exterior spaces are rarely seen on a small yacht of this size (the FD80 Series is 25m / 80ft 7in) and include a covered foredeck and a semi-enclosed sky lounge that extends aft with a dining table, bar, barbecue, and Jacuzzi.

The FD80 motor yacht is powered by twin MAN engines that allow the luxury yacht to reach a top speed of 17 knots. With a range of almost 3,300 nautical miles, she offers transatlantic cruising opportunities.
