Heesen Yachts Presents Project SERENA at the Dubai Boat Show

Heesen presents Project Serena, the yard’s most recent success in the 55-meter steel class at the Dubai International Boat Show.

This year at the Dubai International Boat Show, Heesen will be presenting Project Serena, the yard’s most recent success in the 55-meter steel class. Project Serena features exterior design from the boards of Frank Laupman at Omega Architects, with interiors by Luca Dini Design and Architecture. She is currently under construction at the shipyard and is due for delivery in November of 2024.

Constructed on the FDHF hull design by van Oossanen, the 55-meter Project Serena will be launched at the show with a six-stateroom layout, with the engineering platform offering the possibility of many custom options.

Chief Operating Officer Tim Trenker says, “Thanks to this design’s generous enclosed volume of 760GT, there is great flexibility. I imagine that some owners might choose to add an extra cabin for the staff, for example, or the beach club could be transformed into a gym. There are plenty of possibilities.”

Built on the Fast Displacement Hull Design, the superyacht offers transoceanic range with large interior volume and a classic profile. The yacht is available on a such a short delivery schedule due to Heesen’s bold spec build program.

She boasts oversized windows, with aggressive form lending to a look that makes her easily recognizable on the water.

Frank Laupman of Omega Architects says, “As much as we love our original design with the vertical windows, we felt it was time to make an evolutionary step,” said Frank. “We opted for a larger expanse of floor-to-ceiling glass, without mullions, in the main saloon and sky lounge. Then we took the opportunity to give a slightly more aggressive look to the profile, by using continuous sheets of tinted glass. The horizontal lines stretch the optical length and balance the air draft. The result is beautiful: we retained the family look and feel but gave it an elegant touch.”

A new addition to the owner’s suite is a French balcony.

“This is one of the most impressive innovations on the latest version of the 55-metre Steel,” iterates Heesen CCO Friso Visser. “This is something truly unique that fundamentally changes the space.”

The Dubai International Boat Show runs from March 9 – 13th, and CCO Friso Visser and Sales Director Robert Drontmann will be welcoming visitors to stand MD4.
