A beautiful sailing yacht from Palmer Johnson, S/Y 37m (123ft 4in) GALILEO is a classic vessel on the market for 6,500,000 EUR. With accommodation for six guests across three cabins, she is in fantastic condition following an extensive two-year refit from 2019- 2021.

GALILEO is listed for sale with Peter Soldatkin of Aberton Yachts.

“The first thing you notice when on board sailing yacht GALILEO is the amount of great love and care the yacht was refitted with,” says Soldatkin. “The experienced owner really loves to spend time with family onboard and thus has expertly restored this classic yacht, following his highest standards for quality and comfort. A complete renovation including new hull paint, teak decks, engineering systems, sails and rigging, and interiors. The galley and crew quarters have also been completely renovated,” he explains.

Built in 1989 by Palmer Johnson, this sailing yacht benefits from a classic yacht hull shape and a distinctive green hull.

“GALILEO is a very comfortable boat to cruise, both under the engine and sail. The classic interior makes the stay onboard very cozy and sophisticated at the same time. This combination creates an incredibly special feeling and immerses you into the classic yachting of the mid-eighties, which was the heyday of these boats,” adds Soldatkin.

GALILEO offers her guests an incredible number of amenities. Her luxurious master suite boasts a king-size bed and a separate office with a large sofa seating area. She also has space for seven yacht crew. This yacht features a magnificent interior by John Munford, with an abundance of teak, lacquered wood, carefully selected furnishings, and unique details. As with many sailing yachts, there is an excellent amount of deck space for guests to enjoy, with plentiful shaded areas to enjoy the cruising grounds while protected from the sun’s rays. Guests can also take advantage of a jet ski on the fore deck and a tender in the stern.

In recent years, more yacht owners are considering sailing yachts as an eco-friendly option for ownership.

As Soldatkin explains: “There is now an awakening of interest in sailing yachts again. When you consider the trend towards modern ‘green’ technologies, a sailing yacht is the most elegant solution to reduce your carbon footprint and be able to travel long distances.”
