Renowned classic sailing yacht SHENANDOAH OF SARK has recently been listed for sale on YATCO with Jamie Small of Burgess. The 178′ 4″ three-masted world traveler is located in Palma, Spain for viewing.
Originally built in 1902 by Townsend and Downey, she has since been substantially refitted in 2009 with completely modernized systems, and most recently updated and upgraded in 2018/2019. Built of steel, she was designed by Theodore E. Ferris. Constructed to take owners and guests long distances, she has gracefully traveled the waters of the Pacific, the Antarctic, and the North Atlantic, among many others.
She comfortably accommodates up to ten guests in four generous staterooms, which include a large master suite, and three double staterooms, plus two Pullman berths. Each stateroom features its own entertainment system and en suite facilities. Guests are looked after by eleven yacht crew members in six cabins.
The three-masted schooner’s delightful main salon offers dining on a large table for up to ten guests, who can relax on the large sofa after a meal and enjoy the grand piano. The area is well-lit thanks to a large skylight that sits at the center of the ceiling. On deck, the large cockpit offers a comfortable area to enjoy the sail, along with an outdoor dining area for up to ten guests.
While offered for charter, tenders include a RIB, a Zodiac, as well as two Laser Dinghys while toys include six sets of diving equipment, a Bauer Dive compressor, two mountain and two road bikes, two SeaBobs, kayaks, two standup paddle boards, and more.
While under power from her two Lugger 500hp engines, she can travel 3,400 nautical miles at her cruising speed of 9.5 knots.
