The 61st edition of the Antigua Charter Show will take place from 4th – 9th December 2022 at Nelson’s Dock Yard, Antigua.
The Antigua Charter Show is one of the primary charter yacht shows in the industry. An international event, it attracts industry professionals from across the world. The event is a unique opportunity for yacht brokers to tour charter vessels, network and explore the region at the start of the Caribbean charter season.
Motor Yachts, Sailing Yachts and Multihulls 50ft and Above
The Antigua Charter show typically hosts vessels 50ft and above and includes Motor Yachts, Sailing Yachts and Multihulls. Each year, an average of 60 vessels are involved in the event.
Crew Competitions at the Antigua Charter Yacht Show
One of the unique activities of the Antigua Charter Show is the annual Concours de Chef and Tablescaping Competition, where chefs and crew members can showcase their skills and impress brokers with their expertise.
Chefs Competition
The theme of this year’s competition is ‘A Taste of Yachting’ where chefs are asked to prepare a three-course dining experience with three mystery ingredients supplied by the judges. The chef must adhere to a preference sheet for the imaginary guests – much like a normal charter and are judged on the following categories:
- Overall appeal: originality and creativity.
- Appearance and presentation: visually appealing
- Taste: flavor, seasoning and balanced flavors.
- Creativity: creative use of mystery ingredients and the theme of the competition.
- Execution: use of the theme, cooking techniques and preference sheet.
Tablescaping Competition
The Tablescaping competition is a chance for Stewards and Stewardesses to showcase a themed dining experience. Similar to the chef’s competition, each yacht will be given a ‘mystery decoration’ to incorporate into the design. The judging criteria is as follows:
- Appearance and presentation
- Creativity and originality
- Overall Impression
