Our Story

Specializing in firefighting, safety, marine firefighting for land-based teams, and damage control training, Resolve Maritime Academy courses are USCG, MCA and STCW approved certification programs fulfilling requirements for license upgrades, renewals, and revalidations. Initially developed to train in-house OPA90 SMFF response teams, Resolve’s Academy has grown into a nationally recognized educational facility training thousands of global students including First Responders, Harbor Pilots, Captains, and crew. Since OPA90’s start in 1990, Resolve has been at forefront of marine firefighting and is considered a leading emergency response provider with the most advance fire/safety training facility in North America. At the core of the Academy’s training is the T/V Grey Manatee fire trainer, a 140-foot firefighting simulator located inside Port Everglades (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida) that utilizes live fire, search & rescue training scenarios giving students the real-world experience of thick smoke, intense heat in full-gear practice. Course programs include maritime firefighting, organizing & training fire response teams, proper handling & use of onboard fire suppression equipment/systems, & crisis management/damage control. Students are taught by instructors who are professionals in the emergency response industry with unparalleled access to Resolve Marine global response operations. “As Real As It Gets” training takes on a whole new meaning at Resolve’s Academy.
