About Our Founder, Robert Kleinwaks

Robert Kleinwaks has been a passionate boater for over four decades. His early boating experiences began in the Northeast, exploring the Long Island Sound, New York City, and the Hudson River. As his vessels grew in size, he ventured further, navigating to Sag Harbor, Montauk, the Hamptons, Block Island, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, and Rhode Island, covering much of New England’s premier boating destinations.

With advanced training and hands-on experience, Robert took his yachts between Long Island, NY, and Florida, frequently visiting destinations like the Florida Keys, the Bahamas, the Exumas, and Harbour Island. His last personal vessel, an 84ft Lazzara, became the foundation of his chartering career. Initially chartering his own yacht to keep it active, he expanded his expertise by managing charters for other yacht owners and brokers. This experience led to the launch of Charter Big Boats , a company now specializing in luxury yacht charters ranging from 40 to 240 feet .
