About the Newport International Boat Show:

The Newport International Boat Show (NIBS), held September 11–14, 2025, is one of the premier boat shows in the Northeast, spanning over 17 acres of interconnected marinas and wharfs in the heart of historic downtown Newport, Rhode Island. The show features an impressive lineup of new sailboats, powerboats, and luxury yachts alongside hundreds of marine products, services, and accessories. Guests can also enjoy hands-on experiences like test drives, in-water boating courses, and educational seminars, plus VIP amenities at the exclusive Windward Lounge.

What to Expect at the Show

Each location at the Newport International Boat Show offers guests a unique experience.

At Perry Mill Wharf, explore boats up to 80 feet along with engines, electronics, marine accessories, retail displays, and the exclusive Windward VIP Lounge. Hammetts Wharf hosts “Below Deck” marine gear, inflatables, and the Cruisers Classroom featuring daily seminars for all experience levels.

Brokerage Basin showcases pre-owned sail and motor yachts from 30 to 125 feet, while the Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina offers test drives and sea trials. The Newport Yachting Center features the latest sailboats, powerboats, catamarans, and additional accessories and retail exhibits.

Windward Lounge VIP

Enhance your Newport International Boat Show experience with the Windward VIP Lounge, a stylish indoor and outdoor retreat offering early entry to the show, premium cocktails, gourmet cuisine, live acoustic music, and special pop-up events. VIP tickets cost $225 with an early bird discount available through August 1, 2025, and grant access for one day between Thursday and Sunday. These tickets must be purchased in advance and won’t be sold at the event.

VIP admission includes full general show access plus exclusive use of the Windward Lounge, which features a premium open bar, private restrooms, a separate entrance, and early access an hour before the show opens. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the event in comfort and luxury. All VIP tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged.

Tech Talk

Tech Talk tickets include access to one 3-hour educational class and a 1-day general admission ticket to the Newport International Boat Show, valid Friday through Sunday. Topics include diesel engine systems, lithium battery technology, and gel coat repair.

Classes take place at IYRS on Saturday, September 13th, and Sunday, September 14th, with time slots available in the morning and afternoon. Space is limited, and reservations must be made in advance during ticket purchase.

  • How much do tickets to NIBS cost? – General Admission tickets are $32 and valid for one day only, Friday through Sunday. For more value, 2-Day General Admission tickets are $54 and allow entry on any two days between Friday and Sunday, while the $65 Preview + General Admission ticket includes access to two days, Thursday through Sunday. Thursday’s Opening Preview Day ticket is $42 and ideal for serious buyers looking to connect with dealers in a less crowded setting. All tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
  • How can I purchase tickets? – Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Digital tickets are scanned at the entrance, and you’ll receive a wristband that provides full access to both land and on-water areas for the day. Tickets are valid for one day only and are non-refundable, regardless of weather conditions. Children under 10 may enter for free when accompanied by an adult and will receive a wristband at the gate.
  • Are discount tickets available? – A special discounted rate of $20 is available for Newport residents and military personnel on Sunday, September 14th, with valid ID at kiosk row only.
  • Are VIP tickets available? – Windward VIP tickets are available for $225 with an early bird discount through August 1, 2025, and include access for one day only, Thursday through Sunday. These tickets must be purchased in advance and will not be available on the day of the event.
  • Do I need a ticket to attend a Tech Talk? – Yes.   • Where is event parking located? – The best place to park for the Newport International Boat Show is Easton’s Beach, located at 175 Memorial Blvd, Newport, RI. Overflow parking is available at St. Michael’s School, with check-in and scanning at Easton’s Beach before being redirected.
  • How much does parking cost? – Daily parking passes cost $42 (including fees) and are valid for one specific day from Thursday, September 11 to Sunday, September 14. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, so purchasing in advance online is highly recommended. Passes are non-refundable, non-exchangeable, and not valid for show admission.
  • Will transportation be provided between the parking lot and the marina? – Yes, a complimentary shuttle service will run between the lot and the show entrance from 8am-8pm daily.
  • Is handicap parking available? – Handicapped parking and shuttle access are available at Easton’s Beach lot.

  • Are pets allowed on the showgrounds? – No pets are allowed on the showgrounds. Only ADA certified service animals are permitted.
  • Will there be on-site concessions? – There will be a variety of food and beverage vendors at the show. Additionally, there are plenty of dining options within walking distance.
  • Is there a “coat check” or storage for bags and strollers? – No, stoarge will not be available for personal items. Please note that for safety reasons, strollers are not allowed inside the show. Strollers can be left near the Show Office in a designated stroller parking area.
