Now in its 35th year, the show brings together charter professionals—including agents, brokers, owners, and captains—for four days of networking, exhibitions, and onboard experiences in the scenic harbor of Newport, Rhode Island.
Organized by Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard, the event highlights top-tier charter yachts along with a curated selection of services and products that support the charter market. The same venue also hosts the Newport Brokerage Boat Show each September, running in conjunction with the Newport International Boat Show.
This premier, four-day event is exclusively designed for professionals in the luxury yacht charter industry, welcoming agents, brokers, owners, and captains to the iconic coastal setting of Newport, Rhode Island. Produced and hosted by Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard, the show centers around a stunning in-water display of luxury charter yachts ranging from 70 to over 200 feet. These vessels, available for charter, represent the pinnacle of maritime craftsmanship and service, complemented by a curated selection of on-land exhibitors offering products and services that align with the charter yacht lifestyle.

The Chef Competition invites yacht chefs to showcase their culinary talent in a mystery basket challenge. Participants will create an elevated dish judged on taste, presentation, use of ingredients, and plating by a panel of culinary and yachting professionals. This highly anticipated event highlights creativity, refined technique, and exceptional flavors, with prizes awarded to the top three entries.
For the interior teams, the Tablescaping Competition invites stewardesses/stewards from participating yachts to showcase their creativity by designing an onboard dining table using the yacht’s own linens, tableware, and decor. Crews can enter individually or as a team and choose any theme, with judging focused on originality, composition, use of materials, and how well the design complements the yacht. A panel of design professionals will select a winner, while attendees vote for a fan favorite.
The Captain & Deck Challenge is a lively competition made up of three challenges designed to entertain participants and spectators alike. Awards and prizes will be given to the top three overall winners based on combined performance. All crew and show attendees are encouraged to come cheer on the competitors while enjoying beer and wine during the event.
Perhaps the favorite of the NCYS, the Cocktail Competition is a fun and flavorful way for crew to highlight their mixology skills.
Chef and/or stews showcase their creativity by crafting both a mocktail and a cocktail using mixers or unique ingredients from their onboard bar. Entries are judged onboard by show attendees, who evaluate each drink based on taste and presentation.

Held on June 26, the seminar will feature a lineup of expert-led presentations covering topics such as creating standout charter itineraries, exploring the Turkish coastline, cybersecurity best practices, and cruising in New England. The morning concludes with interactive roundtable discussions led by industry professionals, offering focused insights on software tools, international payments, and travel insurance solutions for the yachting sector.
