The Hamburg Yacht Festival is a major celebration of boating held at Hamburg Yacht Harbor in Wedel, Germany’s largest marina on the Elbe River. Since its successful launch in 2023 that attracted 10,000 visitors, the festival has become the new late summer gathering for boating enthusiasts from Hamburg and the surrounding Elbe, North Sea, and Baltic Sea regions. Organized by Yachtfestival365, the company behind Germany’s largest in-water boat show, the Ancora Yacht Festival, the event brings together beginners and experts alike for three days of excitement and community from September 5–7, 2025.
The festival offers a lively nautical marketplace alongside a diverse program of stage shows and interactive activities that cater to sailors and motorboaters of all skill levels. Visitors can participate in hands-on experiences such as taster sailing, opti-sailing and motorboating for children, e-board test drives, and more, providing unique opportunities to get on the water and engage directly with the boating lifestyle.
Designed as a family-friendly event with free admission, the Hamburg Yacht Festival combines educational presentations with water-based fun, making it enjoyable for visitors of all ages. With its festive atmosphere and rich maritime tradition, the festival promises to be a memorable highlight for the boating community in one of Germany’s most iconic seafaring cities.
