About Geographe Bay Race Week

Western Australia welcomes sailors and yacht racing enthusiasts to Geographe Bay Race Week in Busselton, one of the state’s premier sailing regattas. The annual regatta attracts fleets from across the country each summer and is held in the sheltered waters of Geographe Bay near the Margaret River region. The event is known for reliable summer conditions and a welcoming atmosphere for both competitive and cruising fleets. The regatta is held over a full week from Saturday, February 14, through Friday, February 20, 2026, and combines serious racing with a full social program ashore for crew, families, and spectators. With 83 vessels competing in 2025, the regatta aims to reach 100 entries in 2026. Yachts must, at a minimum, comply with Australian Sailing (AS) Category 6.

Dates

The event is a popular fixture on the Western Australia sailing calendar for 2026. Geographe Bay Race Week is scheduled from Saturday, February 14, through Friday, February 20, 2026. Races typically run daily, with evening presentations and social events throughout the regatta.

A delivery fleet will depart from the RPYC annex/FSC, make an overnight stop in Mandurah, and then proceed to Port Geographe Marina on Friday. All boats will be shadowed by the RPYC start boat Challenger.
