A Brief History of Allt för Sjön
While the fair adopted the name “Allt För Sjön,” in the early 1930s, the event’s roots date back to 1903 when the first boat exhibition was held in Stockholm. The second and third exhibitions were held in 1905 and 1907, but the show entered hiatus prior to World War I.
In 1922, four years after the first world war concluded, the Royal Motorboat Club revived the exhibition to boost interest in motorboats. The event moved to Liljevalchs Konsthallar in Djurgården in 1929 before eventually making its way back to Stockholm. Since the 1970s, Allt För Sjön has been hosted at the Stockholm International Fairs.
