Accommodations

JACK TAR II is a two-stateroom/two head yacht. Boarding on the swim platform, access to the aft deck is up stairs to either port or starboard. The aft deck features a comfortable athwart-ship bench seat, access to the side decks, and a built-in molded stairway up to the boat deck. Center-line against the salon bulkhead, is a BBQ grill and stowage, with the double doors into the salon to starboard. There is ample stowage throughout the aft deck, and the extended boat deck above gives nice protection from the sun and elements.

Proceeding into the salon, the effect is immediately one of understated luxury, with large windows all around, plush fabrics, and designer carpet. Select American cherry cabinetry and trim warm the look, as do the recessed LED lights throughout. There is an occasional chair to starboard, with a large, L-shaped sofa to port.

Continuing forward, is a private stairway down to the master suite to starboard, and two steps up a level to the midship galley, ladder up to the flyingbridge to starboard, and pilothouse forward.

From the pilothouse, there is a stairway to starboard down to the VIP suite in the fore-peak. There is also a wing door to starboard, allowing easy access to the side decks and bow.

The flyingbridge is reached from either the pilothouse stairs, or the aft deck stairs, and features an enclosed seating/helm area with L-shaped seating port & starboard.

Salon

The salon is a comfortable retreat with L-shaped sofa seating to port, and a black leather occasional chair to starboard. The sofa  features a pull-out sleeper. Cherry wood blinds give privacy and relief from the sun, while the large windows and openness forward to the galley and pilothouse present a visually open and flowing design. Carpet underlay and superior insulation turn the area into a silent retreat, even when underway.

The double doors to the aft deck feature Phantom screens allowing for flow-through ventilation with the pilothouse doors open.

Pilothouse

Certainly one of the most notable areas aboard the West Bay, the pilothouse (on the same level as the galley) offers excellent visibility, access to the side decks, flyingbridge, and VIP suite, and provides a comfortable raised dinette/seating area to port. The counter surfaces are granite-type solid surfaces, and complement the black leather Stidd helmseat and dinette cushions. All electronics and controls are conveniently and logically positioned for ease of use.

Galley

The galley aboard the West Bay 54 is at the center of attention, conveniently located between the salon and the pilothouse, just steps down from the flyingbridge. Featuring granite-type surfaces, the galley has an abundance of light and working space in the U-shape design. No one will ever consider themselves "stuck' in the galley when in such a thoughtfully laid out workspace.

The amount of space devoted to stowage would be impressive on a much larger yacht, the over-sized portholes offer light and fresh air, while the tasteful use of fine cherry wood cabinetry gives the area a rich, nautical look and feel.
