Unique Characteristics

What makes the HH50 unique is its ability to sail a percentage of the wind speed much higher than other cruising cats. Being a daggerboard boat you can claw to windward more and increase speed downwind. The HH50 is a high-end performance cruising catamaran all the while offering top level construction and accommodations.

What makes the boat different? Well, first its the design prowess of Morelli and Melvin and the exacting standards of the engineers and staff of HH Catamarans. The HH brand accommodates the small niche of people who demand performance, quality, and high-end accommodations.

Equally important is the experience of Rocknak's to guide you through the build. We have visited with, and know, the key personnel at the factory on a first name basis. Rocknak's has the capability to train you in your boat and provide service and support while you own your new OC50. Ask for recommendations.

Where the HH Catamarans HH50 differs from the HH Catamarans OC50: The HH50 has a carbon  composite hull, deck, and super structure. All the bulkheads, floors, and supporting components are also carbon fiber. The carbon construction allows for lighter weight among other things. The standard mast is carbon fiber and has more strength than an aluminum spar. This opens up the ability to push the envelope by a larger margin. The HH50 has two helms vs one on the OC50. There are other differences as well. Contact scott@rocknaks.com for the full comparison sheet.

On your first sea trial you will find the boat turns quickly, is stable, points much higher than what you have been accustomed to on charter cats, and can be maneuvered easily in port. The transoms stay out of the water, the boat is dry, and the bridge deck design allows for quiet passages.

The boat is predictable, has excellent bridge deck clearance, and exudes quality. Inquire how to see the boat yourself. You will see why visitors at the boat shows and those that have been aboard say the HH Catamaran is their favorite.

Accommodations

Three and four cabin models available. Your choice of interior finishes and fabrics including actual wood veneer and solid trim or artificial wood with stunning appearance. Flooring is an LVT of Amtico brand and is also highly customizable.

Each boat is designed for long-term and long distance live aboard capability. Even for a performance catamaran there is more than ample storage.

Aft cabins feature queen size berths at normal bed heights. Each cabin is well lit and features a picture window aft opening up the interior. In the 3-cabin Master's version there are full height cabinets inboard including shelves, drawers and hanging lockers. Outboard are half-height chests or cabinets.

The guest hull aft features a full height armor outboard and additional locker space inboard. The forward cabin also has its own cabinets and storage. Under all the berths are cavernous storage possibilities.

In the salon there are two separates settees allowing for a more apartment like feel vs your typical u-shaped catamaran table/settee combination. Headroom is carried all the way forward and can accommodate 6'7" or more.

In the salon is also the navigation station with full navigation instrumentation and ship's controls.

The anchor locker contains an electric windlass and separate chain compartment. The bulkhead inside the locker can have a mounted Fortress anchor as a spare.

A builder with experience

Hudson Yacht Group has a large, modern facility located right on the water. Resin infusion, 5-axis routers, water jets, a giant autoclave, and traveling gantries are all part of this proper facility.

The magic, however, comes from the experience of the craftsman building the boat. Finishes that have depth and woodworking reflecting hundreds of years of tradition. Electrical assemblies and mechanical systems as a study in how its done. Hardware and component selection that is, well, state of this art.

Well known names in the performance boat industry can be working for you and your project! Consider the experience of Paul Hakes, Riccardo Marton, Thomas Jonsson, James Juan, Paul Smith, and Taka Wung. Smart, exacting, and dedicated to making the HH Catamaran the best available.
