Overview
Accommodations
With one of the most innovative and well appointed interiors to appear in a yacht in this size range, the 44's accommodations are focused on the requirements of both extended cruising and a comfortable lifestyle when living aboard. Two large double staterooms, well separated for privacy and each with its own head and shower, combine with an expansive central living area to provide a gracious setting for entertaining or cruising with family and friends.The forward stateroom has a double Pullman berth to starboard, abundant storage on teak shelves, in stowage lockers, and in cedar-lined drawers. Also featured are a large cedar-lined hanging locker, a teak bureau with mirrored vanity and upholstered seat. The adjoining private head with separate shower area has a wrap- around vanity with s/s sink, hot/cold pressure water, unbreakable mirror and plenty of storage.
The salon has two comfortable captain's chairs with a removeable table between. To starboard is a full-sized settee which converts to a double berth, as well as Island Packet's drop down dining table with bottle and glass storage behind. The nav station is at the aft end of the settee, featuring a wrap-around work area , large chart table, chart storage tray, drawer, nav light, generous cabinets, master electrical panels, book rack, storage bin and stowage under the upholstered seat. Forward of the galley is a ventilated wet locker. The galley, next aft to starboard, has a refrigerator/freezer, 3-burner stove/oven, microwave oven, double s/s sinks with sink cover, aluminum propane tanks, deluxe dish rack and cutlery drawers as well as large storage drawers. A molded slip-resistant sole is provided in the galley, companionway, nav and head areas, while the salon and staterooms have varnished teak and holly soles.
The aft stateroom has a comfortable double berth, teak shelf outboard, stowage lockers, dressing seat, cedar-lined hanging locker, and bureau with shelf over, in addition to having luxurious accommodations similar to those in the forward head. Original equipment included a small tub which, in this boat, was modified by the addition of removable shelving providing additional storage space.
Galley
Convenient to both the salon and cockpit, the galley wraps around and aft to starboard. Appointments include large storage cabinets and drawers, and a microwave alcove, as well as:

Deck and Cockpit
On deck, full length handrails, extra height double lifelines, and recessed fore and side decks with bulwarks provide secure footing when underway. The integral bowsprit/anchor platform provides immediate access to ground tackle, always ready for use employing the electric reversing anchor windlass, with both deck and cockpit mounted controls. The cutter rig has long been accepted as the most versatile and manageable rig for the cruising sailor. Taken in conjunction with Island Packet's exclusive Full Foil Keel, this combination provides the easy motion and enhanced steering qualities unique to a long keel configuration. The cockpit has contoured seats over eight feet long affording plenty of room for seating or sleeping. A deluxe steering console employs premium direct-drive rack and pinion steering, noted for its exceptional feel and rugged reliability. Additional cockpit features include a freshwater cockpit shower, insulated icebox and a covered instrument panel.
