CONSTRUCTION | |||
Baltic Yachts Finland has excelled for over 40 years delivering state of the art , light weight , custom yacht projects from 39 feet to over 200 feets LOA. PINK GIN VI is the second largest yacht built by this superb composite specialized yacht builder and she showcases the evolution of the shipyard in her Carbon build techniques, innovative solutions all built to rigorous DNV Classification standards.
PINK GIN VI was built in association with Judel Vrolijk Naval Archietcture who are well known at the Shipyard having designed the lion’s share of Baltic projects over the years. In house engineers at Baltic are well known for their expertise engineering innovative solutions to solve client requests. In this case this massive yacht started life in 3 parts in the historical Baltic facility in Bosund, Finland – 20 km from the current facility on the Gulf of Bothnia and was trucked to the modern Baltic facilities as the project evolved.
The hull structure was built in a 3- piece female mould to accept prepreg laminates curing a 89-90 degres C. The Hull is composed of advanced composite sandwich construction using Carbon Epoxy Prepreg/Sprint laminates cured under a vacuum at 85 degrees C temps and then post cured at a higher temperature to allow for the dark hull color.
Internal High stress areas such as around the lifting keel. Rudder bearings, bow and bobstay etc. are reinforced with unidirectional fibers. Six Watertight Bulkheads are sandwich construction unidirectional skins, carbon epoxy prepreg / Sprint skins with Corecell foam cores.
ACCOMMODATIONS | |||
Designed as the ultimate performance world cruising yacht capable of very fast passages in superb comfort, PINK GIN VI has been well tested since her launch in 2017 and performed admirably. Being the sixth version PINK GIN for the same owner, the design and accommodation plan are designed to offer maximum comfort and safety whether at anchor or sailing across an ocean.
A central innovative feature of the yacht are the opening topside balconies – on port side just above waterline for receiving guests etc. into the central areas of the yacht and another forward to Starboard in the Owner’s stateroom as a private balcony. Design Unlimited has excelled in all aspects of the owners’ desired décor with remarkable colors and plush finishes rendering a soft, comfortable yet vivacious ambiance.
The interior accommodations and living spaces are inviting yet formal with many seating and lounging areas to allow guests comfort and space. The decorative detailing is exquisite as well as original. As you come aboard PINK GIN via the main saloon hull balcony you are greeted by the large, bright and open dining and saloon area of the yacht with formal saloon seating starboard side and formal dinning to port. Pilothouse windows and large topsides fixed ports allowing amazing light in and visibility. The saloon area of the yacht is configured on two levels with an upper area allowing for a large “U” shaped banquette seating/dining area with a baby grand piano opposite.
Accommodations for owner and guests with 6 total ensuite staterooms are situated both forward and aft of the saloon area. There are 5 double staterooms all ensuite including the owners suite all forward. Being in the forward area of the yacht results in great privacy and allows tremendous headroom and natural light into these cabins with hull topsides port lights and deck hatches. The owner suite exceptionally large making up roughly 20% of the internal volume with plenty of lounge seating, central king bed, wardrobe and full beam head / shower forward. There is a 6th Stateroom VIP also ensuite aft of the saloon which is under the central cockpit area and exceptionally comfortable in any seagoing conditions.
Crew accommodations are aft allowing engine room access, service and food preparation without disturbing the owner and guests. This area is accessed via aft deck hatch or the portside corridor into the Main Saloon/ dining area. Well designed and efficient crew spaces compliant with MLC and LY3 with 4 total double crew cabins. There is a dedicated laundry room and large settee crew mess as well as cold room adjacent to the large galley with direct access to the guest dining areas.
The design of the deck areas again results from extensive owner/designer collaboration over several PINK GIN yachts and combines an efficient optimized sailing layout with very safe and comfortable owner/guest louging areas. There are 3 spacious cockpit areas for guests to lounge, relax and take in the ocean views, dine or take part in sailing activities. The forward most cockpit is enormous and securely tucked behind the raised saloon with large dining table bench seating plus plush settees “L” shaped setees outboard offering protected seating. At the aft end of the large centre cockpit there is another settee area for guests as well as one of 2 companionways down the crew area.
Openings in the coaming allow access to the side decks separating these 2 cockpits and leading to the foredeck or aft to the working and aft guest cockpits. The helm cockpit is a work of art with twin wheels and full dual controls for all ship and sail handling systems. Further aft there is a second crew hatch down to the crew area followed by a large guest cockpit area with lounging cushions and seating areas. The aft deck drops down access and hydraulically lowers to a sealevel swim platform.
