Company History
Since its inception in 1973, Cantiere del Pardo has been building Grand Soleil cruising sailing yachts and has produced over 4,500 yachts. The company’s facility is built over 40,000 square meters of space that is split into three departments: millwork, carpentry, and assembly. Made of sandwich with biaxial and unidirectional fiberglass impregnated with Epoxy-vinylester resin, the hull and deck are strong, safe, and reliable. All hulls are strengthened by a composite frame of carbon and GRP structure, optimizing rigidity and strength while keeping weight down. All builds start out life in their prototype department where materials and innovative solutions are studied and tested. All interior materials are of the highest quality, from the carefully chosen woods, to the soft furnishings. Everything is made in Italy. For the development of hull shapes, the company utilizes hydrodynamic and aerodynamic scientific research, while for the sail plan and keels, they employ Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software. All parts are then tank tested to ensure high functionality. The company’s Long Cruising Line includes the GS 72LC, GS 52LC, GS 46LC, and the GS 42LC. Their Performance Line includes the GS80, the GS72, GS58, GS48, GS44, and the GS34.
