This Martin Francis’ magnificent design was originally built by Trehard in France as Concordia, then totally rebuilt as Buzzy B in 2000 at C&N in Gosport, UK. Nothing was left unturned, even the interior benefited a complete redesign. She is now a modern, fast and extremely comfortable sloop.
In 2007/2008 she went through an extensive refit in Trehard. Then again with her current owner who acquired her in 2010. Since then she has been renamed DARK STAR, managed by Dream Sailing and has benefitted from an extensive programme of improvements.
DARK STAR has been cruising the Western Mediterranean around the French Riviera and Corsica from her base in Port Grimaud, as well as the Caribbean. During this time she has done a limited number of charters, having been crewed by a professional Captain and Chef couple with a Deckhand and an occasional Stewardess.
She has five cabins forwards, including a king-size master suite, two doubles and two twin bunk cabins, plus a twin bunk cabin aft (crew). One of the forward cabins is also used by crew members; this may be either a double or a twin bunk cabin, depending upon the accommodation requirements of the guests.
For the prospective purchaser seeking a fully-equipped luxury yacht that is ready to go, she is ideal. Not only has she been maintained in top condition, but is also furnished to a very high standard with everything required to ensure maximum guest comfort. For example, crystal glasses, Portmeirion dinner service, tailor made bed linen, embroidered towels and bath robes to cater for groups of up to 8 guests accommodated on board or up to 12 for day sailing.
DARK STAR represents a fine example of what is an extremely well-designed yacht offering fast, comfortable sailing at the same time as luxury accommodation. The flexibility of her cabin layout is ideal for family groups where separate berths are required and her enormous cockpit can easily sit 12 people at mealtimes. Her open deck space, with flush-fitting hatches makes moving around on deck easy and allows plenty of space for her large sunbathing cushion, as well as for deck games! Access to the water is also a pleasure via an electrically operated, hydraulic aft door, which becomes a spacious bathing platform.
