Feadship Launches Solar-Powered Project 713

Feadship recently launched Project 713, a bold representation of the shipyard’s goal to achieve climate neutrality by 2030. While all Feadship yachts are now running on non-fossil HVO, this vessel is the shipyard’s first to generate auxiliary power through custom solar cells. Said Feadship, Project 713 “is a prime example of meeting the long-term environmental and social sustainability expectations of Feadship’s diverse stakeholders.”

Made in the Netherlands, the solar cells are designed for ultimate durability, efficiency, and performance quality. The panels dramatically increase energy efficiency and annually produce up to 24 megawatts per hour.

Project 713’s owner is credited as being an integral part of both design and environmental impact reduction throughout the yacht’s construction.

Project 713 has been evaluated using the Yacht Environmental Transparency Index (YETI) Assessment. The YETI Assessment appraises a yacht’s individual characteristics in comparison to a larger group of vessels. By implementing the YETI Assessment, industry professionals can gauge environmental impact and collect data to increase sustainability. Impressively, Project 713 measured 35% less than the fleet average.
