On April 30, 2025, Damen Yachting launched the first Amels 80, a new 80-meter (262ft) superyacht in the Amels Limited Editions line. This launch represents a major milestone, showcasing a cutting-edge design that blends luxury, craftsmanship, innovation, and sustainability. Representing the modern evolution of the Amels legacy, the Amels 80 offers exceptional performance, elegance, and lasting quality.

Rose Damen, Managing Director of Damen Yachting, said in a press release, “With [the] launch of the first Amels 80, we have reached another landmark achievement in the history of Amels. I would like to thank our Client and the team at Burgess for entrusting us with this very special build. We are honored and excited to see the final phase through to delivery.”
The Amels 80 was first introduced in 2022 with the sale of the debut vessel taking place six months later. Adriaan Roose, Amels 80 Product Design Manager, worked closely with the Owner to ensure that their requested customizations were executed to the highest standards. Said Roose, “The Amels 80 offered the client many custom options whilst still benefiting from the shortened delivery time. This yacht is the ultimate balance of individuality and efficiency.”
Burgess has overseen the building process on behalf of the yacht’s owners. Sean Bianchi, Partner and Head of Burgess Technical Services, expressed the company’s delight in seeing Amels 80 hull number 01 enter the commissioning and sea trials phase. He notes, “This milestone marks the culmination of close collaboration between Damen Yachting, Sinot, and the Owner’s team in crafting a yacht that is truly one of a kind.”
Bianchi continues, “This yacht has evolved into something truly extraordinary through the Owner’s vision and meticulous input. With her striking exterior lines and a bespoke interior like no other, we are proud to support both the Owner and the shipyard in bringing Amels 80, hull number 01 to life. Upon delivery, she is set to become an icon — instantly recognizable by her distinctive paintwork and exceptional design.”
Featuring exterior design by renowned superyacht designer Espen Øino, the Amels 80 embodies modern elegance. According to Øino, the yacht marks a major advancement in design, seamlessly merging aesthetics and practicality to deliver a refined and outstanding on-water experience.

The interior of the Amels 80, created through a first-time partnership between Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design and Amels, offers a serene and elegant atmosphere. The design emphasizes smooth transitions between spaces, the use of natural materials, and a soft, neutral color palette, all contributing to a sense of understated luxury. According to Paul Costerus, interior designer at Sinot, the project allowed them to create something truly distinctive – an environment that feels welcoming from the moment you step on board.
The Amels 80 sets a new benchmark for sustainable luxury, featuring a hybrid propulsion system that lowers emissions, enhances fuel efficiency, and ensures quieter cruising. Designed for long-range exploration and ultimate comfort, this superyacht accommodates 14 guests in seven elegant suites and operates with a crew of 21. Standout amenities include a helipad, a 200-square-metre Sun Deck, a private Owner’s Deck, and a Beach Club equipped with a spa, sauna, gym, hammam, and massage room. Amels 8001 is set to be delivered in the summer of 2025.
