Graduated United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, N.Y. in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Transportation.
Doug has been captaining, building, marketing, and selling boats, yachts, and ships for the past 50 years. He is comfortable working with and managing teams of professionals in fiberglass, steel, or aluminum materials.
Doug is a specialist for yacht building business management. The joy of perfecting this process takes long hours of both a tight focus and a broad view at the same time, handling the many elements of a great build. It takes roughly 50 workers performing in harmony with thousands of construction elements and dozens of primary vendors to produce the 35-meter “Pantera 35”, in 16 months. He worked closely with the designers , naval architects, and engineers for Pantera to become the “Ultimate Charter Machine,” with the Bahamas in mind.
